CALLAO
The Callao Port is comprised by one open exterior small
bay, protected in the south part. The superior-exterior small bay is the first anchorage
place for any kind of ships, with more than 39º of depth.
The special conditions in reference to sea currents, tides,
lack of rains, etc. offer high security.
Port entry has 180m. width and the ships can enter 30' of
draft normally until 34' in high water.
The depth of the moorings varies from 27' to 37'.
The interior small bay has approximately one square mile of area and is limited by
the land and two brake waters.

INFLUENCE ZONE
By it's geographical position related to
the country and it's hemispherical location in the Pacific area, the Callao Port has
enough zone of influence which is reflected in big volumes of loading due to cabotage,
import and export.
Callao nationwide moves around the fifth part of the total tonnage from the
country.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
The Callao sea Terminal is located in the
Provincia Constitucional del Callao (Constitutional Province of Callao), far away from
Lima, Capital of Peru, just some 15 kilometers and is connected to the Republic Capital by
means of four highways. All of them are crossed transversally by the Av. Elmer Faucett
which connects the International Airport " Jorge Chavez" to the Capital.
Since the Callao Port it can be translated
easily to any place of the country: by the Central Highway to the interior and, by the
Panamericana Highway to the north and south of the country. There is a connection with the
Central Railroad of Peru which connects Lima city to the interior of the country, crossing
the Cordillera de Los Andes.
By sea route, the Callao Port is connected
particularly to the countries of Pacific coast and generally to those which have
navigation advantages.
NAVIGATION AIDS
Port Settlement: 5.36 hrs.
Tidal Amplitude during syzygies: 0.90m
Average of tidal amplitude: 0.55m
Dredging: The dredging is made with own equipment according to an
annual plan of dredging.
Protection: The port is protected in the South by Chucuito
littoral, La Punta and the San Lorenzo Island. Besides there are two breakwaters, one of
2,175m at the North and another of 1,090m at the south.
Lighthouses: In the channel of entry to the Callao Port, there are
two light houses named North and South Lighthouse.
Buoys: The channel of entry is marked by light buoys which are
located at 1,000 m from the top of the breakwaters and separated 180.5 m each other.
Anchorage places: The anchorage place is free to all kind of
shipments in the exterior small bay of the port.
Pilotage: It is obligatory. The service of Pilots is covered by
very experienced Captains of the Callao Sea Terminal.
PORT FACILITIES
Freight Platforms: There are nine freight
platforms for the direct traffic
jam.
Moorings: There are 29 moorings distributed as follows:
- 3 Moorings (1A, 1B, 1C) in the freight platform Nº 1.
- 3 Moorings (2A, 2B, 2C) in the freight platform Nº 2.
- 3 Moorings (3A, 3B, 3C) in the freight platform Nº 3.
- 3 Moorings (4A, 4B, 4C) in the freight platform Nº 4.
- 3 Moorings (5A, 5B, 5C) in the freight platform Nº 5.
- 2 Moorings in freight platform Nº 7(freight platform of
oil)
- 5 Moorings (9A, 9B, 9C, 9D, 9E) in freight platform Nº 9.
The moorings 9D
and 9E serve small ships and repairs.
- 2 Moorings (10C, 10D) in the freight platform Nº 10.
- 3 Moorings (11A, 11B, 11C) in the freight platform Nº 11.
NOTE: The average longitude of the
moorings is 600 feet.
CHIMBOTE
The Sea Terminal is located in the North sector of Ferrol
Bay, protected by three islands which conform two channels of entry.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS

LONG 78º 37' O.
INFLUENCE ZONE
The Sea Terminal of Chimbote, is for an area of 30,600 sq.
Kilometers with a population near to 705,000 habitants. This influence area comprises the
provinces of Huaraz, Corongo, Huari, Huaylas, Mariscal Luzurriaga, Payasca, Pomabamba,
Recuay, Santa Sihuas and Yungay, of the Ancash City.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
The Panamericana highway passes the
Chimbote Port. The Huallanca railway is not used, a few kilometers there is an airport.
NAVIGATION AIDS
Port Settlement: 4 hrs and
19 minutes.
Tidal Amplitude during syzygies: 1.09m
Average of tidal amplitude: 0.79m
Anchorage places: It can be done in waters from 18 to 9 meters
over bottom of mud and sand in the bay.
PORT FACILITIES
Freight Platform Nº 1.-
For direct traffic jam of ships. Size 185m. long and 16m. wide.
Height of platform in high waters: 2.36 meters.
Predominant Material: Reinforced concrete.
Average of depth of freight platform: 9m.
Installed defenses: Sheetpiling of wood and wood piles creosoted.
Number of bitts: 18.
Railway: It is extended along freight platform. It is of 1.02
meters wide.
Freight Platform Nº 2.-
For the service of big boats. Size 54m. long and 18m. wide.
Height of platform in high waters: 2.13 meters.
Predominant Material: Reinforced concrete.
Average of depth of freight platform: 4,5m.
Freight Platform Nº 3.-
265m. long and 16m. wide
Railway along freight platform: It has transporting band for the
loading and unloading of minerals in bulk.
Warehouses: There is a warehouse, whose are is of 1,783.44sq.
Meters.
Zone: There is a zone with a total area of 10,559 sq. Meters.
Submarine Piping: Located at the mean part of Ferrol Bay for the
unloading of oil byproducts.
Floating Material
* 1 tugboat of 400 HP.
* 1 boat of 160 HP.
Drinking water supply:
Through pipings of 4" installed in the freight platform Nº1.

10 minutes.
Tidal Amplitude during syzygies: .09m
Average of tidal amplitude: 0.7m
Anchorage places: Can be done at front of the port. The best
anchoring can be done in waters from 24 meters to 750 meters of distance since freight
platform head.
Lighthouses: Besides the Punta Coles lighthouse, which
specifically is for navigation, exits other flashes signals which light the entry and
outlet from the Southern Peru freight platform. The ENAPU freight platform has a
stationary red light of navigation, with luminous power from 16.5 cd., 3 miles of
reaching, located in the extreme of freight platform at one height of 8.20 m. over the
average of Low Tides.

Freight Platform for Direct Traffic
Jam of Ships: Size 302m. long and 27m. wide and 5 mts high.
Moorings: Has 4 moorings:
- 1-A: South Side
- 1-B: North Side
- 1-C: South Side
- 1-D: North Side
Warehouses: A warehouse,
with ceiling 1,600 sq. Meters.
Free Zone: In an asphalting area of 18,000 sq. Meters and
compressed of 15,500 sq. Meters.
Floating Material
* tugboat of 500 HP.
IQUITOS
The Iquitos Port is located between the western brook of
the Amazonas River and Padre Island which is at 1.5 km of distance and parallel to the
brook.
Iquitos is at 106m. above the sea level. It is accessible to ships of 4m. of draft
in any time. There is a current with speed from 4 to 5 knots. The level of all water
increases to 11 or 12m. during the rains.

INFLUENCE ZONE
The influence zone comprises the region of Alto Amazonas,
Maynas, Coronel Portillo, Requena, Ucayali, Chachapoyas, Bagua, Luya, Bongara, Pucallpa,
Yurimaguas.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
There is route by the Amazonas River, it is
for a large zone of Loreto, through affluents and strands. There is fluvial communication
with the Ecuador country through the Napo river and with Brazil through the Amazonas
river, with Yurimaguas city through Huallaga and Marañon rivers, with Pucallpa city
through Ucayali river.
Airport: It has an air service of itinerary
with Lima city and other cities of the coast.

Freight Platform Nº 1.-
87.87m. long and 9m (1). wide.
Freight Platform Nº 2.- 60m. long.
Moorings: 2 moorings.
Warehouses: There are 10 warehouses. The main warehouse is for
general loading of import, whose area is of 3,400 sq. meters, area of other warehouses is
approximately 400 sq. Meters each one.
