MATARANI
The Matarani sea terminal, is the main port of Arequipa
city, located at 8.5 nautical miles in the north of Mollendo Province and at 465 nautical
miles in the south of Callao Province. It has two breakwaters, being a port protected
against direct traffic jam of ships. The port is small with a little difficult entry and
outlet. It is placed on the bottom of rocks hill.
There are a plant of pneumatic unloading for wheat in bulk,
fishing freight platform and transporting band of minerals in bulk, with longitude of 530
meters and a warehouse in the top of terminal, with a capacity for 36,000 tons.

INFLUENCE ZONE
The influence area comprises all the
Arequipa city and a part of Moquegua, Cuzco and Puno cities.
Matarani serves also the Bolivian Republic, whose routes of entry are through the
Titicaca Lake and a highway of roadbed to La Paz.
In it's influence area, this terminal
serves 870 industrial locales and 378 business locales with more than 5 employees each one
of them, engaged in the wholesale and retail sale.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
There is a route to the Southeast, at 15
kilometers of Mollendo province. At 800 meters of distance from the port, there is another
route bifurcates to the North-east, at 50 kilometers to the Panamerica highway in La Joya.
A railway of standard gauge goes 62
kilometers at the Northeast to La Joya and connects to the South railway.

Tidal Amplitude during syzygies: 0.80m
Average of tidal amplitude: 0.64m
Anchorage Place: It can be done in water from 70 to 31m. on the
bottom of sand at the Southwest from the port.
Lighthouses: For the demarcation and signals of the port entry,
there are 3 lighthouses installed whose characteristic of flashes is 3 x 1, which are
located as follows:
- 1 in the south breakwater, red light visible at 6 miles.
- 1 in the east breakwater, white light visible at 8 miles.
- 1 in the headland named "Pan de Azúcar". White
flash and 8 miles of reaching.
Markers:
- A lining marker of fixed green light for the marking from
the real 104º.
- A signals marker of the channel entry is fitted in the green
light of the aluminum tank and another installed in the chalet Nº 5, with affiliation
80º.
- A yellow buoy to demarcate the entry of the left side from
the channel located at 10mm of depth.
- A projector of four fixed white lights for the night works,
located at the East breakwater, ground site.
Port Protection: It has an artificial protection through
breakwater with the following characteristics:
- Breakwater South: 650 meters long.
- Breakwater East: 145 meters long.
Channel Of Entry: Wide of
140 meters and depth of 13 m. in it's mean part, allowing the entry and outlet of ships
from 9.5m of draft.
PORT FACILITIES
Marginal Freight Platforms:
For direct traffic jam of ships. Size 450 mts. Long and 20.15 mts. wide.
Moorings: The Marginal Freight Platform has three moorings for
ships from 460 m. of length and to 30m. of draft. The draft at the bottom of the freight
platform, has an average of 9m. referred to the low mean tide.
Expansion of Freight Platform: The marginal freight platform has
had an extension of 90.50 meters, which allows to have a mooring room. The depth at the
bottom of freight platform is of 9 m. in this mooring, the reception tower of transporting
band for minerals is installed.
Marginal Medium Wall: Size 50 meters. its capacity of traffic jam
is for small shipments until 8' of draft.
Fishing Freight Platform:
- Longitude: 90.50 meters.
- Width: 25,000 meters.
It is for traffic jam of small boats.
Floating Material:
- 2 high seas tugboats: one 800 HP and another
of 720 HP.
- 2 wood boats, with diesel engines.
- 2 Iron Flat-bottomed Boats.
Water supply: It has two
reservoir tanks of 20,000 and 100,000 gallons for internal consumption and for the ships.
Electric power: it has one Power Plant, with installed capacity of
600 KW.
For the reception of wheat in bulk: The terminal has a Pneumatic
Tower with two pumps of suction. The capacity of each pump is for 100 tons per hour. The
storage is made in 12 silos with a total capacity of 11,000 tons.

PAITA
Paita is a modern terminal located in Piura city, and is
the first important port on the way to the South Pacific. It has been built in 1996 as
Direct Traffic Jam Terminal by the firm George Wimpey & Co. Ltd.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS
LAT. 5º 05' S.
LONG 81º 07' O.
INFLUENCE ZONE
The Sea terminal of Paita, located in Piura
city, Paita Province and the District of Paita, is for 33,000 sq. Kilometers with a
population near to 916,000 habitants. This influence area comprises the provinces of
Piura: Ayabaca, Huancabamba, Morropón, Paita and Sullana. Also, it could be considered
the provinces of Tumbes: Contralmirante Villar and Zarumilla.
In it's influence zone this terminal serves
399 industrial locates and 164 business locates with more than 5 employees each one of
them and engaged in the wholesale and retail business.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
This terminal is joined to the Piura city
through a paving highway (56 kms) which connects to the Panamericana Highway. There is
another highway which connects the terminal to Sullana city, 60 kilometers of distance at
the Northeast.

Port Settlement: 3

Tidal Amplitude during syzygies: 1.5m
Average of tidal amplitude: 1.17m
Anchorage places: It can be done at the front of the port over
good bottom for the anchoring, of mud and sand with depth between 13 and 18m.
The anchoring of ships can be made at 1.2 km. To the north of the traffic jam
freight platform.
PORT FACILITIES
Traffic Jam Freight Platforms:
size 365m. long and 36m. wide, built with reinforced concrete and defenses of wood piles
with rubber dampers.
Mooring: There are four for ships from large sea-going: 2 of 200m.
long each one and 2 of 165 m long each one. It has 31 bitts distributed into the four
moorings.
Draft: It can be attended ships that draft until to 9.5m.
Access Highway to the port Area: Length 1,200m. and connects the port area to the
main highway.
Warehouses: There are four areas which are duly paving with a
total area of 16 thousands sq. Meters.
Submarine Piping: For the loading and unloading of oil and
byproducts with a length 650m.
Drinking Water Supply: Freight platform has six intakes of
drinking water, three to each side.
Floating Material:
- A tugboat, "Chira River" 850 HP.
- A tugboat, "El Paiteño", pushing
type of 360 HP.
- A boat, "Piurana" of 60 HP.
PISCO (Puerto General San
Martín)
The Sea Terminal of General San Martin (Pisco) is located
in Paracas Bay, to 277Km from Lima south, in a place called Punta Pejerrey, Pisco
Department.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS
LAT. 13º 48' 00" S.
LONG 76º 17' 20" O.
INFLUENCE ZONE
The influence area of Pisco comprises the provinces of
Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Cusco and Apurímac.
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
From Lima to 264Km. From Pisco to 36Km by highway. By sea
route it is connected from Callao port to 122 miles. The nearest airport is in Callao and
for emergency cases is available the Corpac Airport.
The Vial interconnection: Port of Pisco (San Martin) has
access to Pisco city through a highway with two ways of 32Km. Long., which is connected
with Panamericana South and has access to the mains cities of Huancavelica and Ayacucho
departments through Los Libertadores way.

Freight Platform.- For direct traffic jam
of ships of marginal type. Built with reinforced concrete and steel piles. Size 700m long.
And 20m wide.
Moorings: Has 4 moorings with 175m length each.

SALAVERRY
The Sea Terminal is located in La Libertad department,
Trujillo province, district of Salaverry. This port is situated to 560Km from Lima city
and 12km from Trujillo.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS

LONG 78º 58' 52" O.
INFLUENCE ZONE
The influence area of Salaverry comprises the provinces of
Trujillo (Casagrande, Cartavio, Laredo) Ancash, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, San
Martín, Lima (Paramonga) and Arequipa (Chucarapi).
COMMUNICATION ROUTES
The Panamericana highway passes the Salaverry Port. By sea
route it is connected from Callao port to 255 miles. To 20km from Trujillo there is an
airport.
